At that time I will be looking for a new receiver with HDMI switching but I do not anticipate purchase of different speakers for a very long time. Realisticly that will be a year or two down the road. I do anticipate a receiver upgrade in the future when I switch from my Mitsubishi RPTV (component inputs only) most likely to a DLP model with HDMI capability. Since I am only running a 5.1 system at this time I will soon be experimenting with passive bi-amping the fronts as the BP 2000's have high/mid/low binding posts as well as a separate LFE input. This alone has been a major upgrade from a 12 year old Pioneer DD receiver and really makes the speakers perform like I have never heard in the past. I just purchased a Pioneer VSX-1014TX-K receiver as a stepping stone system two weeks ago and find this combination works very well. I have paired the BP 2000TL fronts with a C/L/R/ 2500 center and BPVX surrounds from Def Tech.

I paid the same amount you mentioned for my speakers when purchased new.

Let your own ears decide and then pull out the plastic. You can pay a lot less or a lot more for other speakers and some might say you can buy better but that is only opinion. If you like the sound and are happy with the price, then someones else's comments should not affect your decision. To each his own! I personally am glad there are so many fine choices for every component. Just as I have found when researching any brand of component be it receiver, speaker, DVD player etc. You will also find both positive and negative comments about this brand while you research. As you may know this configuration has both proponents and opponents in the industry and on the forums. I also find the Bi-Polar configuration to really fill my very large volume living room easily. I find the dual subwoofers in front provide a balanced effect on bass especially with movie soundtracks.

That is something you might want to contact Def Tech about. I am not aware of any differences in amplifier or other components within the same model of speakers. My speakers have the internal subwoofer powered with a 500 watt amplifier. I am extremely pleased with their performance in my listening use for both movies and music. I have had a set of the Def Tech BP 2000TL's for about 4 years now.
